GQ bar at Marriott Marquis- Dubai

Hi Beauties!

Last Friday night my husband and I got to go trial GQ bar at the JW Marriott Marquis located in Business Bay.
We arrived at 7pm and seated straight away, our waiter Marceli was very delightful and extremely helpful.

He gave us the restaurant menu plus a wine list and recommended favourites from each one.
We started with a glass of Rose Tattinger champagne each, which was a highlight of the evening. A very relaxed and easy to drink champagne, as to be honest I'm not a huge fan usually.
Most champagnes are too dry for me and leave my mouth with a bitter taste so tend to stay away, I usually prefer sparkling wines as they are sweeter, but to my delight the Tattinger was lovely.

For our starters, I had king prawn spring rolls which were absolutely delicious and my husband had california sushi with king crab which were also very impressive. We shared both dishes as loved both.
For mains I chose Angus beef fillet laid on a bed of spinach with an amazing girolle mushroom & porto sauce, which complimented together very nicely.
I also chose parmesan & mushroom mash potato. The combination of both dishes were both probably my favourite out of the whole meal.

My husband chose Sea bass which was a huge fillet of pure white fish, served with roasted baby leeks & celeriac puree, he chose truffle fries as a side dish. We thought these were just a little to greasy but that was the truffle oil which was drizzled over them.

For puddings, again we chose something different each. As I love coconut, I went for the coconut panna cotta, with a mango & passion fruit sorbet. An addition which was very impressive, were a cluster of small passionfruit seeds that melted in your mouth & tasted delicious.
Although mine was lovely, I definitely preffered my hubby's dessert, he went for the valrhona chocolate fondant with vanilla bean ice cream. The outside was slightly hardened but as you broke through with your spoon the fondant oozed out and was slightly warm.

We also delved into the cockail list throughout the evening, one of the impressive ones was a mezcal aparente, presented with what looked like a bubble case, when removed a mist surrounded the glass.
But I ended up where I started off, back on the Tattinger. This maybe a new tipple for me as was super easy to drink and the taste was so smooth.
After dinner we moved into the bar, where it started to become very busy and 2 DJ's played underground, minimal house which gave it an edgy but trendy feel.

I would definitely rate GQ bar & recommend to visit there to try out its delectable menu & fab atmosphere.
